Pak-Afghan Border: 16 Terrorists Killed by Security Forces in North Waziristan – ISPR Report

In a major counter-terrorism operation, Pakistan’s security forces killed 16 terrorists who attempted to infiltrate the country through the Pak-Afghan border in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early Sunday morning. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, the terrorists were detected attempting to cross into Pakistan from the Afghan side near the Ghulam Khan Kallay area.

ISPR Statement on Infiltration Attempt

The ISPR report stated that a group of terrorists was identified as they tried to breach Pakistan’s borders. “Our troops effectively engaged the terrorists and successfully thwarted their attempt to infiltrate,” the ISPR said. The military confirmed that following an intense exchange of gunfire, all 16 terrorists, referred to as khawarij (an official term used for extremists involved in terrorist acts), were neutralized.

The ISPR highlighted that Pakistan has repeatedly called on the Interim Afghan government to ensure the proper management of their side of the border. The statement emphasized:

“The Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by khawarij for terrorist activities against Pakistan.”

The military reiterated its firm resolve:

“Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to securing our borders and eradicating terrorism.”
