President Asif Ali Zardari Tests Positive for COVID-19, Undergoes Medical Care

 KARACHI: April 2, 2025 – President Asif Ali Zardari has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently receiving medical care under the supervision of infectious disease specialists at a private hospital, his physician Dr. Asim Hussain confirmed on Wednesday.

Due to his health condition, all in-person meetings with the president have been strictly prohibited. Dr. Hussain stated that President Zardari is being closely monitored, with multiple tests conducted to assess his condition. The medical team is ensuring continuous observation to provide the necessary treatment and support.

The president was transferred to a private hospital in Karachi from Nawabshah after experiencing health complications. However, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon reassured the public that President Zardari’s health is improving. He dismissed reports suggesting that the president was being moved to Dubai for further treatment, emphasizing that he is expected to recover soon.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally inquired about President Zardari’s health over a phone call, expressing his concern and extending prayers for his swift recovery. Similarly, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also spoke with the president, conveying his best wishes and hoping for his quick return to good health.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also reached out to Dr. Asim Hussain for updates on the president’s condition and extended his well wishes for a speedy recovery.

As the nation awaits further updates, well-wishers and political leaders continue to express their support and prayers for President Zardari’s health.
