Saudi Arabia Supports Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan Border Agreement for Regional Stability

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – March 14, 2025 – Saudi Arabia has welcomed a landmark border agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, marking a significant step toward lasting peace and regional stability.

The agreement, signed in Bishkek by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon, resolves long-standing territorial disputes that have fueled tensions for over three decades.

Under the deal, Kyrgyzstan will receive approximately 25 square kilometers from Tajikistan in exchange for an equal amount of land or improved access to shared water resources.
